Flat Removals in Birmingham
Studio to three-bed apartments, city-centre towers to converted houses. Fixed prices, lift bookings and parking sorted in advance, no stair charges.
Moving a Flat Is a Different Job
A flat move is rarely about the volume. A one-bed apartment fits in a Luton van, but between the van and your front door there is a loading bay that has to be booked, a lift that has to be reserved and measured, a concierge who needs the right paperwork, and perhaps four flights of stairs in a converted Victorian house with no lift at all. That is where flat moves go wrong, and it is what we plan for.
We move flats across Birmingham every week: the towers and canal-side developments around the city centre, the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth, the converted villas of Edgbaston and Moseley, the station-side blocks in Solihull and Sutton Coldfield, and the maisonettes and low-rise estates in every suburb in between.
What We Sort Out Before Move Day
Flat Removal Prices
These are typical starting prices for a flat move within Birmingham. Your fixed quote depends on the volume, the floor, whether there is a lift, the distance to the loading point and where you are moving to. Everything is agreed in writing before the day, and the price includes blankets, straps, a trolley, dismantling and reassembly of standard furniture, and goods-in-transit insurance. Types of Flat We Move
Purpose-built apartments and towers. The blocks around the city centre, Broad Street, the Mailbox, Eastside and the canals, plus the newer developments in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and Harborne. These have service lifts and loading bays, and the job is about booking them and working inside the building's window.
Converted houses. The Victorian and Edwardian villas of Edgbaston, Moseley, Kings Heath and Erdington split into flats. No lift, tight stairs, bay windows that do not open, and permit parking outside. We send a smaller van so it can get close and a crew that is happy to carry.
Maisonettes and low-rise estate flats. Walk-ups in Castle Vale, Chelmsley Wood, Druids Heath and across the Black Country, often with a parking court some distance from the door. We measure the carry and price it in.
Student and graduate flats. One-trip moves around Selly Oak, Edgbaston and the Jewellery Quarter at the start and end of tenancies, where our man and van service is usually the right size.
Flat to house. The most common flat move of all: a couple leaving a two-bed apartment for their first house. We load the flat in the morning, and because a house has a drive and a front door, the afternoon is quick.
Moving Out of a Rented Flat
If you are leaving a tenancy, the timing is usually tied to a check-out inspection. We work to the inspection time, protect the floors and door frames so there is nothing to argue about on the inventory, and can take unwanted furniture to the tip or a charity on the same run. For a full clear and clean, see our end of tenancy removals.
If the new place is not ready on the day the tenancy ends, we can hold everything in secure storage for a few days or weeks and deliver when you have the keys, so you are not paying rent on two homes to bridge a gap.

No. The number of flights is part of the survey and the fixed quote, and we send an extra crew member where that keeps the job on time. You will never see a stair charge added on the day.
Yes. Tell us the building manager's or concierge's contact and we arrange the lift reservation, the loading bay or service yard and any insurance paperwork they ask for. If the building insists on a particular window, we work inside it.
We apply to the council for a temporary suspension of the bays outside the building for the loading time. Where that is not possible we arrive early, park on the nearest legal stretch and carry. Either way it is agreed before the day and included in the price.
Usually, yes. We dismantle beds, wardrobes and most sofas, and we carry awkward pieces up stairwells with straps and protection. Where a piece genuinely will not fit we tell you on the survey, before you pay for a move that cannot deliver it.
A one-bed flat with a lift and a bay outside is usually two to three hours door to door within Birmingham. A two or three-bed flat up several flights with no lift can take most of a day. Your quote states the crew size and the hours we have booked.
Yes. A sofa, a wardrobe, a fridge freezer or a few boxes between flats is a man and van job, priced from £60 with the driver doing the lifting and carrying.
