Piano & Specialist Item Removals

Trust our trained specialists to safely move pianos, antiques, artwork and high-value items across Birmingham and the Midlands.

01

Specialist Handling for Precious Items

Moving a piano, antique or valuable artwork takes specialist knowledge and kit. Our trained team has the experience and equipment for even the trickiest items, and we plan each job around the access, weight and fragility involved.

Piano skids, heavy-duty straps, custom padding and purpose-built vehicles ensure every precious item gets individual attention from start to finish. Nothing is rushed and nothing is left to chance.

From an upright in a terraced house to a grand piano in a concert hall, we have moved them all across the West Midlands. Whatever you need shifting, we will assess it carefully and give you honest advice before we lift a thing.

02

Piano Types We Move

Upright pianos typically weigh between 200kg and 350kg, and the real challenge is rarely the weight itself but the access. Tight hallways, doorways and turns in a staircase all need careful planning. We use a piano skid board, sturdy lifting straps and a piano dolly to keep the instrument stable and protect both the piano and your home. Upright piano moves start from £150 within the West Midlands.

Baby grand pianos require partial disassembly before they can be moved safely. We remove the lid, detach the legs and carefully take off the pedal lyre, then wrap and crate each component using specialist crating. The body is laid on its straight edge on a padded skid for transport, which is the safest position for the frame and soundboard.

Concert and full grand pianos are a serious undertaking that calls for specialist rigging and multiple crew members. These instruments can weigh well over 450kg, so we plan the lift in detail, protect every edge and move at a measured pace. Because the move can affect tuning and regulation, we recommend booking a professional tuner once the piano has settled in its new home.

Digital pianos are lighter and easier to carry, but their electronics and screens are fragile and intolerant of knocks or damp. We wrap them fully, secure any loose stands and transport them upright and cushioned so the internal components arrive in perfect working order.

03

Other Specialist Items

Fine art and paintings are packed into specialist art boxes sized to each piece, with corner protection and acid-free wrapping where needed. Framed works are never stacked on top of one another, and canvases travel face-to-face only with proper separation between them.

Antique furniture receives white-glove handling throughout. We use soft wraps rather than tight banding so there is no compression on delicate joints or veneers, and we take pre-move photography to record the exact condition of each piece before it leaves the room.

Wine collections are moved with temperature-aware transport to avoid sudden swings that can spoil a vintage. Each bottle is given individual protection in dividers or foam inserts, kept on its side where appropriate and handled gently to avoid disturbing the sediment.

Gym equipment such as multi-gyms, treadmills and squat racks often needs machine disassembly before it can be removed, followed by heavy rigging to manage the considerable weight through doorways and down stairs. We reassemble everything correctly at the other end.

Medical and dental equipment demands careful, calibrated handling, which is particularly relevant for the many Edgbaston practices and clinics we serve. We protect sensitive instruments and chairs and coordinate timings to minimise disruption to your patients.

Server racks and IT equipment are decommissioned, padded and transported with anti-static care so your hardware and data infrastructure arrive ready to be powered back up without damage.
