Student Removals in Birmingham

Quick, friendly and budget-friendly moves for Birmingham students. We work around tight tenancy deadlines, busy term-end weekends and the narrow terraced streets around the universities.

01

Why Birmingham Students Choose Us

Birmingham is one of the biggest student cities in the UK, with the University of Birmingham, Aston, BCU and Newman all pulling in tens of thousands of students every year. We have spent the last decade learning the rhythm of student moves: the September arrivals into halls, the spring switch-ups between houses, and the chaotic June rush when every tenancy in Selly Oak seems to end on the same day.

Our crews are friendly, patient and used to working around housemates who are still packing the kettle when we arrive. We will not lose patience if your stuff is in bin bags rather than boxes, and we will not charge you for a day rate when your move actually takes two hours.

Every student move is fully insured under our £10m Goods in Transit cover, with no excess and no surcharges for stairs, lifts or the steep flights up to a Tiverton Road attic room. You pay one fixed price and we handle the rest.

02

How Much Do Student Removals Cost in Birmingham?

Student moves in Birmingham start from £60 for a single-room move with a couple of bags and a desk. Most full bedroom moves between Selly Oak houses fall between £80 and £180, depending on how much you have and whether you need help carrying it. The table below gives realistic prices for the most common student jobs we handle.

We always quote a fixed price up front, never an hourly meter, so you know exactly what to budget. If you can split the cost with a housemate moving the same weekend, even better, we can sometimes do back-to-back bookings at a reduced rate.

Move-In, Move-Out and Mid-Term Swaps

The first weekend of term is one of our busiest each year. We collect from family homes across the Midlands and beyond, then carry your boxes, fridge and bedding right up to your halls room or shared house. Where lifts are tight or staircases narrow, our crews bring trolleys and protective coverings as standard so nothing gets scuffed on the way in.

End of tenancy in June is even busier. Most Selly Oak, Bournbrook and Edgbaston student houses run on identical contract dates, so the streets fill up with vans on the same Saturday. Booking two to three weeks ahead is essential, and an early-morning slot makes the day easier for everyone.

Mid-year swaps happen too. If you are moving out of halls in January, switching house partway through the year, or relocating to a new room within the same house share, we can usually fit you in at short notice with a same-day or next-day slot.

04

Storage Between Tenancies

Most student tenancies in Birmingham end in late June or early July, but the next one rarely starts until September. That is a six to ten week gap where your belongings need somewhere to go that is not your parents' garage.

Our summer storage service is built around this. We collect from your shared house on the final day of your tenancy, transport everything to our secure storage facility, and deliver it to your new house when the next tenancy starts. You pay one combined price for the move plus the storage, with no separate vehicle bookings to organise.

Storage is CCTV-monitored and climate-controlled, so you can leave bedding, books, kitchen kit and even electronics with no worry of damp or damage. Read more on our storage solutions page for unit sizes and pricing.

Areas We Cover Around the Universities

We move students across all the main Birmingham university neighbourhoods, with crews who know the parking, the one-way systems and the awkward terraced streets like locals. Key areas include Selly Oak, Bournbrook, Edgbaston, Harborne, Moseley, Kings Heath, Stirchley and the city centre around Aston and BCU.

We also handle longer student moves between Birmingham and home cities, including London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Sheffield. Whether you are heading home for summer with a full car-boot's worth of kit, or relocating after graduation for a new job, we offer fixed-price long-distance quotes.

Working With Tight Selly Oak Streets

Streets like Heeley Road, Tiverton Road, Bournbrook Road and the warren of terraces off Dawlish Road can be very tight for a removals van. We carry permission letters for council loading bays where we can arrange them, and our drivers know exactly where to park to keep doors open and pavements clear without blocking neighbours.

If a parking bay suspension is needed for your move, mention it when you call. These take a few working days to arrange through Birmingham City Council, so the earlier the better. We can talk you through the process and recommend whether you need one at your specific address.
